How to overcome laziness

 At some point, we've all felt paralyzed by our own lack of motivation. If you're one of those people who stay stuck feeling too lazy to learn a new language or take on a new skill, this blog post is for you.


We've compiled an extensive list of tips to get you motivated and start achieving your goals more easily.


If you're feeling too lazy to do something and find yourself procrastinating, ask yourself:


1. "Why do I feel this way?"


Sometimes, it's easier to identify the real problem. Think back to what happened earlier in the day or week and consider whether there is a specific cause for your lack of motivation. It could be as simple as eating too much sugar, or getting a call from someone that has you feeling angry. Identifying the cause will help you determine how to overcome laziness. Once you identify what's causing your laziness, try to fix it or move on.


2. "What are you doing?"


If you're thinking that nothing can be done to change your feeling of laziness, think again. Even if you don't feel like changing anything, it's still important to figure out what you're currently doing. Maybe it's a good thing that you're feeling lazy at the moment; maybe it is time to re-evaluate your priorities and decide what you really want. Whatever the case may be, setting a goal and actually achieving it will motivate yourself to continue working towards your goals in the future.


3. "What else is there?"


Have an interest in something at the moment? Perhaps identifying this interest will help motivate yourself enough to start working on it. Maybe it's a hobby, a passion, or something that you want to pursue in the future. Figuring out what else is out there will give you something else to look forward to and motivate yourself towards.


4. "What do you have to lose?"


If your motivation is low and you're feeling like giving up on something, don't immediately let go of it because of that feeling of laziness. Instead, try thinking about what happens if you don't complete this goal that you set for yourself. Will anything be lost? Most likely not; whatever you're trying to do will still be waiting for when you are able to start doing it again.
